Ó Broin said that political parties who say they won't discuss government formation with another party - as both Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have done about Sinn Féin - 'smacks of arrogance' and 'recklessness'.

Yesterday, Micheál Martin rejected speaking to Sinn Féin about forming a government after a meeting of the Fianna Fáil parliamentary party. The Fianna Fáil leader added that he couldn’t rule out another election given the uncertainty around numbers in the next Dáil. On the possibility of it taking quite some time for a government to be formed, Ó Broin said this morning: “I don’t think the public will tolerate this dragging on for weeks and weeks.”

Like they did for three years in the North

arrogant: “having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities” 🙄

General election number two coming so.

SF were the first to say they didn't want to be in govt with FF or FG then they did the maths. Sauce for the goose = Sauce for the gander. Spoke before they did the maths.

That was there election pledge, the very same pledge SF gives in the WM elections, vote SF but we won’t take our seats. So SF will stick by there pledges but want other parties to break there pledges.

Stevie Wonder could see that.

Big political fish in small partitioinist ponds are understandably averse to political anglers that would enlarge the size of the pond that would shrink their relative size. That's what 'Me Feiners' do.

Shame on FineGael fiannafailparty... Worried about Sinn fein exposing abuse of power while in power. Joke.

FF/FG/GP is now the bookies favourite

Spare me !! It’s Democracy for god sake. Sinn Féin said all along they wanted to form a government without FF & FG, in other words excluding them. Now the tables are turned and it’s ‘arrogance’ usual double standards all parties are capable of, nothing more

If this is true what was the last few days trying to form a left wing govt about? Did sf need help with their sums?

Seriously...take a look a the behaviour of Sinn Fein since the election...”get out you Black and Tans” “up the ‘Ra” and that letter....that’s all just in one week....and now they say others are “reckless”, people don’t want to associate with that type of behaviour

Its time to organise mass protests with the people who voted left. If FFG want to completely ignore working people then so be it. We should organise a general strike because NOBODY wants to see FFG in power. They have destroyed this country.

Reminder... 75% of voters did NOT vote SF

If Sinn Fein cant get the seats to form a government which is unfortunate another election should happen asap... the election results shows that people were tired of the finna party demand and supply arrangement and want change that's why SF got a lot of seats

Sinn Feins behaviour following the election has made it impossible for any other party to go into government with them. They let the Balaclava slip and showed their true colours and the vermin that they are.

Or you could argue they are doing what they believe is right as forming a government with a far left party with questionable links to all sorts of undesirables might not be in the national interest...

Short memory?

No it just smacks of not wanting a group who won’t go after criminals in power
