The Government should cap the cost of energy, rather than hand out new electricity credits.
"The electricity companies are free to pocket this €200, or a large portion of this €200, by simply keeping prices artificially high. "So they're legally not allowed to say 'We're making these huge profits over here, we're going to keep our prices low'."The Government has the power to say: the maximum unit price of electricity you can charge is 25c.Deputy Murphy said the system has to change going forward.
paulmurphy_TD Yeah, fix the prices at the top! 😂🤣😂🤣
paulmurphy_TD Another of life’s wonders will be who in their right mind votes for Paul Murphy. Such a wet blanket whinger. Always willing to hop on the band wagon of any trending Lefty moan.
paulmurphy_TD Paul should take a long walk off a short pier with his communist comrades following close behind.
paulmurphy_TD Has paulmurphy_TD something incriminating on the decision makers. You clowns keep parroting him. IrelandIsFull
paulmurphy_TD He comes from a wealthy family in the posh south side and pretends to represent the Working class
paulmurphy_TD Supply line prices are at 2021 level. No need, just force them to charge market rates for a 60% drop now ffs.
paulmurphy_TD Paul Murphy suggesting Tory polices…..who thought we’d see the day
paulmurphy_TD Nothing in life is free from the government.
paulmurphy_TD Every credit should be scrapped in favour of less tax for workers. People like Murphy only claim to represent the working class... in reality they want to dominate you and the product of your labour. The hint is in the headline. Price CONTROLS
paulmurphy_TD Whilst the cost of gas etc on the markets has come down, it is still higher than at any point before the war. Capping energy just transfers the cost onto the state by way of debt, which is going up and up. Risky move.
paulmurphy_TD Maybe when Paul gets a ministerial position within Government, he can implement his ideologies
paulmurphy_TD Paul is some man to talk about the cost of energy crisis while supporting mass waves of unvetted foreigners into the country
paulmurphy_TD Exactly. And cap it low. High prices = high taxes for govt to waste money and firms to hand out bonuses.
paulmurphy_TD We should be telling energy companies that THEY will have to tighten their belts for a while, they've made enough in the past, it shouldn't always fall on the consumer
Moreover, the powerful energy companies will indirectly become involved in the next General Election campaign. Electricity credits will become the new patronage to buy votes, (with people's own money).
