Electric Ireland is to increase its gas and electricity prices for the second time since May.

Electric Ireland customers are to see another rise in their gas and electricity prices.

Electric Ireland last increased its prices in May, in a move that added around €298 a year to the average customer's electricity bill and €220 to their gas bill."Today's news was expected unfortunately - and given Electric Ireland's size, it will be felt badly by many households nationwide. He believes more price hikes from all other suppliers are likely to follow - while further increases from Electric Ireland can't be ruled out.

"Despite these increases, Electric Ireland's prices are still among the most competitive - if you could even use that word.

An absolute joke

I look forward to the inevitable price hike in Oct/Nov when most people have to actually start using their gas again. I hate to say the Simpsons predicted it but it'll be an imagination Christmas all round this year

Electric Ireland have no choice wer on our way into the worst economic collapse since the 1930s depression and no amount of money printing will help you u can't give people more money in the hope things will get better it's the opposite u need to raise interest rates hard truth

And wat it's called inflation and hey let's all take David McWilliams advice and tell people it's translators increase wages and welfare in the budget to help pay for it like putting petrol on a 🔥 inflation is caused by supply and demand and no amount of money printing will help

You still think your government is on your side . Companies with huge profit doing what they want.

This is why you're forced onto direct debit.

18for0 it would be great to have EamonRyan on the programme. Countries such as Denmark and Germany have a high output of wind energy but yet they are amongst the highest costs of energy in the EU.

Thats because theyre getting all thw iberdrola customers because theyre exiting the irish market. Price gouging coinciding with a huge customer boost. That should be illegal

Greedy feckers.... It shouldn't be allowed

What a joke
