Longtime fans of EastEnders have been left reeling over images from an alternative ending to Barry Evans' story.

However, in a twist of fate, Barry learned he wasn't dying after all and shared the news with a horrified Janine - who was actually disgusted by Barry. Sadly, the real ending saw Barry die and Janine get his money, depriving his son Jack by ex-wife Natalie Evans of his fortune.
