The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued a recall for a popular food sold in multiple supermarkets due to a manufacturing error that has led to a choking or dental damage risk

A popular breakfast cereal has been recalled due to the presence of lumps that could be a choking hazard or cause dental damage.The product in question is the Kellogg's Corn Flakes Chocolate Flavour.Read more:Government confirm new social welfare payment dates next weekThey have warned people who may have bought the breakfast cereal not to consume it.

A statement on the FSAI website reads: "Kellanova is recalling the above batches of Kellogg's Corn Flakes Chocolate Flavour due to a potential presence of hard lumps that may pose a choking hazard and / or dental damage."Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale.The affected batches are the items with the best before dates between 06/12/24 to 28/04/25.

The FSAI wrote: "The above batch of Tesco Sandwich Pickle is being recalled by Tesco due to the possible presence of glass pieces. Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale in Tesco Stores. Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale. Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batch."

The recalled product is sold in 295g containers, features a batch code of 3254 and has a best before date of 11 September 2025. The presence of glass in food can occur if glass containers or equipment used in food processing could break or shatter, allowing fragments of glass to infiltrate the food. This can happen if the glass is subjected to a manufacturing flaw, incorrect handling, or high pressure.
