Wonderful news - congratulations to all ❤️

It was an unexpected day in the office for a team of Dublin firefighters who responded to a call on Sunday morning from a mother to be going into labour.

On Sunday, 98FM’s Newsreader Emma Tyrrell gave birth to her baby girl at home with the help of the fire brigade after she went into labour and knew she wouldn’t make it to the hospital in time before her baby was ready to arrive. The new mum expressed her gratitude to Alice from the Domino Midwives, who was thankfully on hand to guide Emma through the birth of her daughter over the phone. She credited the team for arriving so quickly in response to the emergency, arriving within 15 minutes."I hadn’t actually planned a home birth but the lads arrived with literal seconds to spare this morning - less than 15 minutes after we realised we weren’t going to make it to The National Maternity Hospital.

"Congratulations to baby Laoise who was in a big hurry this morning. Firefighter/paramedics Barry and Mark from Rathfarnham fire station assisted Mammy with the delivery at home." They later updated.Wonderful, I’d say it’s days like that that really make their jobs worthwhile. Welcome baby."“Oh wow. From news reading to making your own headlines! Thank god for the emergency services! Huge congratulations Emma!” Said another.
