Authority responds amid suggestions on social media of delays at airport this weekend

A spokesman for Daa said the flow of passengers through security checkpoints was being managed well.

He expressed gratitude to passengers “for continuing to work with us as we move further into the busy summer season” and reminded anyone travelling in the days and weeks ahead “to arrive at the airport in plenty of time ahead of their flight”.The recommendation from Daa remains to arrive at the airport up to 2½ hours before a short-haul flight and up to 3½ hours prior to a long-haul flight.

I was there on the 6th a Friday afternoon at about 12.30pm. Through Security in about 40 minutes can't complain about that .

Not what I heard today!!!

45 minutes from parking in Red car park to clearing security on Sunday morning. Paid through the nose for it though. Car park double the price of last year + fast track .

Maybe at 6am and 9pm

Half hour for me last Sunday at 6pm

I was there today and the queue in the hall was nearly out the door.

.kevin_cullinane (PR for DublinAirport) needs a new watch. He wouldn't have a clue since the staff were pushing their colleagues to the front of the line today while passengers missed their flights.

Total lie. I was there this morning and the line filled the entire queue area, down the escalator and out the door. They had staff guarding the elevators and stairs to prevent passengers from going up to the security area.

Definitely was not my experience this morning. After queuing for bag drop I then joined a security queue at 10 AM. The queue went from inside T2 to the car park and back into the terminal again. Finally got to xray machines at 11:20! It is a major embarrassment for Ireland

Was through security in 15 mins yest morn. Mind yoy queue for coffee was 30 mins. Security through heathrow on return was less than 2 minutes

“Less than an hour” and they sound very proud of it . Are they for real ?

The other day was 2 hours 25 mins!! You liars!! And coming back is nearly as bad!!

Was through security in 20 mins a few weekends ago..

They are excellent now, bank holidays maybe the test. But compared to Tenerife south it’s chaos with the Brits. No one knows what to do with them. They are a third country and treated as such.

DAA are living in lala land

Shouldn't be that long in the first place

Busy airport well done security staff. Disgraceful Disgusting filthy place just filthy, not today’s filth either

No they aren’t

So, about 55 minutes too long?

Security, is that what you call them. More like a bunch of jokers.

dublinairport yeah, sure they are . Maybe they should wake up and check . Jokers

Directly elected mayor for Dublin would empower citizens - Lord Mayor of DublinGilliland speaking at Citizens’ Assembly on proposal for directly-elected mayor for Dublin It would just give them another excuse to do nothing and expect it all done for them for nothing! It's over! Take it from us neighbours. It most certainly would not! The only people empowered would be the Mayor and the cabinet. Too much power in the hands of too few people. We have enough government and can't afford another load of spongers looking for another early pension.
