Dr Tony Holohan has said that he "wouldn't rule out" crowds at outdoor concerts and sporting events this summer.
Today marked the lifting of numerous lockdown restrictions in Ireland and with a summer that's being geared towards the outdoors, the hospitality sector is waiting to resume outdoor service on June 7. Dr Holohan was then asked about the specific metric that will allow Ireland to move on with easing more restrictions.
On the topic of large outdoor gatherings, music festivals and crowds attending sporting events, Dr Holohan was cautiously optimistic that they could feature over the summer. On the subject of maternity, Dr Holohan said that people will be allowed visitation rights to see their partner during labour.
