Stephen Donnelly raised concerns with the HSE in recent months about the quality of the winter plans of several hospitals, and queried the number of consultants working at weekends, as his department warned that significant surges in hospitalisations were likely.

In a series of letters sent between May and July, the Minister for Health urged the executive of the HSE to expedite an agreed plan to fill emergency department consultant and nursing roles.

Basically put zero resources into increasing bed numbers to a minimum standard and blames people for getting sick. Nice

lorcafan He may get lost in the gaps, they are miles long!

Raising concerns is a lot different to taking the hard decisions to reconfigure the health system which will mean TDs accepting closure or reconfiguring hospitals in their own constituencies, reducing certain staff. They’ll never do that so the status quo is now the normal.

Imagine a Minister asked a question Pin a medal on him ! 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s like he doesn’t know he’s the minister for health 🙄

They all worked weekends one time…… very small % now

Raised concerns. The Minister for Health raised concerns. What did he ACTUALLY DO Nothing. Incompetent. Clueless. Out of his depth

Think a bit more is required in the role, n'est pas?

Isn’t he the minister for health? Did he raise the concerns to himself

Ah that's grand so, all if forgiven Stephen.

Pathetic. The worst minister for health we’ve ever had. He’s a waste of organs

And?

Raised concerns but did SFA!

And ....

Donnelly trying to pass the buck again like he's a casual observer. He is the one in charge for heavens sake!

Ahh.. grand so 👍
