Dog and pups left for dead before being found tied up in Cork field days later

People are "sickened" after a dog was found in a "skin and bone" state with her seven tiny pups in a West Cork field last week.

All eight dogs were rushed to the charity's shelter in Owenahincha and were immediately given fresh food, warm beds and heat lamps to dry them off and stop their constant shivering. She said: "If you look closely at the photo, you can see where she got tangled up trying to get to her litter, jumping in and out of the gate. The pups themselves were okay, she'd really given everything to take care of them.

The charity posted another update to social media, this time an emotional video showing Zelda and her beautiful babies "doing well so far".
