Disciplinary hearing involving teacher Enoch Burke ends

It is understood the board of management of Wilson's Hospital School in Co Westmeath will now consider the matter further and issue a decision in due course.

Yesterday, the High Court refused to grant Mr Burke an injunction to prevent the hearing from proceeding. They repeatedly chanted that the chairperson of the board of management should be present at the meeting. The person in question took ill last night.Amid heated protests by the Burke family, local gardaí were called to the scene. They left a short time ago.

I wish RTÉ would get it right. His transphobia may have been a motivating factor in his behaviour, but it is his behaviour at church and at a social event following, not his motives, that are the subject of the hearing. Seriously hope this guy gets sacked for his aggressive behavior towards his colleagues which is what this hearing is about, it will be a bonus to the kids he did teach if he does get sacked.
