Derry City host Shamrock Rovers in the pick of Friday night's Premier Division fixtures

Ruaidhri Higgins feels Derry City must be more ruthless in defence if they are serious about attacking the title race.

But in Drogheda last week, they failed to make the most of a 2-1 lead and conceded a costly equaliser four minutes from time. “That was very frustrating. This year, we’ve won at home 3-0 and 4-1, so we have got better at that. We just need to get back to being really, really ruthless from a defensive point of view and that doesn't mean just the back four and goalkeeper.

Higgins, who saw his side draw 2-2 away to Shamrock Rovers earlier in the season, said: “It's been frustrating but there have been positive signs in the last couple of weeks.
