Denise Kenny Byrne: Finding Wellness Through Illness

Denise Kenny Byrne is the mind behind The Head Plan , the beloved journalling business. Her life was changed just two days home from their honeymoon with her husband Ciaran, when he fell ill and was immediately admitted to hospital for treatment. He was diagnosed with leukaemia and needed chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant straight away.

“Our world stopped spinning, But there was a realisation that we had probably been spinning in the wrong way, focusing on the wrong things,” Denise tell us in the March issue of VIP Magazine. With the wellness industry booming, Denise explains why she thinks more people are turning to it. “We found wellness through illness and for a lot of people in the wellness industry, it can take a catastrophic moment to get into it,” she admits. “I hate to go back and talk about it, but in 2020 Covid forced us to stop and assess how we were living, feeling, what we were doing with our lives. “It voluntarily put a lot of people in that wellness space.
