Today was the day Anne Gillanders had been waiting 16 long weeks for as she drove from her home in Dublin to Sligo see her mother, Muriel Coulter, for the first time since lockdown.
The easing of Covid-19 restrictions meant that Anne could finally visit her mother today and from now on, she and her brother will take it in turns to visit Muriel until normal visiting hours resume. Many families and friends have been able to see each other for the first time as domestic travel restrictions are lifted.
