After a mixed bag of a day on Wednesday, with scattered showers and occasional sunny spells, the rain is expected to become heavy on Wednesday evening, with some heavy thundery bursts at times and temperatures dropping to as low as 3 degrees. Friday will be cool and breezy, with some sunny spells and temperatures reaching as high as 13 degrees during the day before dropping to as low as 2 degrees at night.In more positive news, it appears as if the best conditions will be saved for Saturday and Sunday, with mainly dry conditions and temperatures in the mid-teens, with light showers expected to be confined to the southeast of the country on Sunday morning.
