Governor of the Central Bank Gabriel Makhlouf will tell the Dáil's Special Committee on Covid-19 Response that the rise in Government debt is 'warranted, necessary and affordable'

Governor of the Central Bank Gabriel Makhlouf will tell the Dáil's Special Committee on Covid-19 Response today that the rise in Government debt is "warranted, necessary and affordable".

Mr Makhlouf is due before the Covid-19 committee to brief members on the overall fiscal and monetary position of the economy. Mr Makhlouf's address to the committee outlines the forecasts contained in the bank's latest Quarterly Bulletin.
