Latest figures from the Department of Housing show that 10,338 people were in emergency accommodation in Ireland in August, including 6,490 adults and 3,848 children. “It is a national shame. How can we, as a nation, accept this? How can the government stand over this?” he said.

Yes the parents should be ashamed of themselves if that's the life they have choosen for their child. As the saying goes you need a licence to have a dog but nothing to have a child.
