Owners took the bold move to help members of the public

The good people at the Listoke Distillery and Gin School in Monasterboice, Drogheda have taken it upon themselves to produce alcohol-based hand sanitiser.

And as shops around the country ran low on sanitiser , members of the public flocked to the distillery in order to stock up. On Saturday, the distillery - home to the Listoke 1777 Gin - announced that they had produced hand sanitiser at 62% alcohol.The Listoke Distillery was selling them in 250ml bottles for €6, with the price just covering costs.In fact, the hand sanitiser proved so popular that the distillery nearly ran out of containers.

All members of the public have been urged to keep their hands clean in order to prevent the virus from spreading. This includes washing hands frequently or using hand sanitiser if washing is not possible.
