The number of confirmed cases worldwide has now exceeded 83,000

327 new infections were confirmed in China on Thursday, down from 433 cases one day prior, marking the country's lowest number since 23 January.that China's central Hubei province had 318 new cases, down from 409 a day earlier and the lowest since 24 January. The provincial capital of Wuhan, meanwhile, reported 313 cases, down from 383 a day earlier and the lowest since 26 January.

"The risk of catching coronavirus, for the general public, is still low," noted the HSE on Friday, referring to the COVID-19 case that is currently being treated in Northern Ireland. "This may change. People may continue to go to work and school as usual. Those in contact with the case have been identified and contacted in line with best international practice."
