A further 1,000 coronavirus cases have been announced this evening while 3 more deaths have sadly been announced.
Dr. Tony Holohan, Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health said; “Case numbers are continuing to rise. Right now, we need everyone to cut their social contacts to an absolute minimum. Martin added that "further action" would be needed as the Covid-19 situation deteriorates in Ireland.Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan have all been placed on Level 4 restrictions as cases continue to rise in the region.Speaking to media today Tanaiste Leo Varadkar said a second lockdown has not been ruled out but it needs to be “thought through” and it would be a lot more difficult for people.
“The government took a decision only in the last couple of days to move some counties to Level Four and to heavily restrict home visits in the areas that are at Level Three.
