Cork mum Sharon says 'life is amazing' after eight stone weight loss

The Cork mum had been dieting on and off for years but was unable to keep the weight off as she says she was a "slave" to food."But in six months down the road, I'd have it all back on and more. In life I'm very motivated in my career and home life and it was something that was consuming my life.

"It's the best thing I ever did and I've had no issues or problems," said Sharon. "I never knew it would be this successful. "They're now recognising that you have to deal with the problem in order to free up hospital spaces that could be taken up by weight-related conditions down the line," Sharon said. "It's not a cosmetic prodecure, it was a lifesaving procedure.
