Currently around one in four cases are identified as community transmission.

Image: Shutterstock Image: Shutterstock THE ACTING CMO has said contact tracers are to start asking people who test positive for Covid-19 and who are believed to be community transmission cases about their visits to bars or restaurants in the period before their positive result.

“It does not ask whether they have been to a restaurant or attended a house party. It does not have that information and neither do I. “But it needs to be done in at least a proportion of cases and there are plans being put in place to do that.” Related Reads 23.09.20 'An awful lot of young people might have to die' if we were to pursue herd immunity strategy, Prof Nolan says 22.09.20 Coronavirus: No further deaths and 334 new cases confirmed in Ireland - including 174 in Dublin

You mean they weren’t before now 😱😡

Except in Dublin?

Jesus Christ how incompetent can this govt, health service and civil servants that are in charge of these things get? Is it not obvious the first thing you verify is where have you been in the past few days, public transport, restaurant, gym, sports training etc, seriously like!

Have they not been doing that all along? Every interaction they've had should be recorded in order to conduct comprehensive mapping of the spread. Then if there is a flare up they have an understanding of the broader picture.

Maybe they should be asking them about any visits to shopping centres, then again there's no point as there no details taken for contact tracing and sure ya stay as long as u want

Excellent! From my visits to restaurants and bars serving food I reckon they aren't responsible for the increase in numbers. They have been very well organised for social distancing and staff ppe. I think they are being made scapegoats.

To BEGIN?!

I ain’t saying nothing

But surely they've already been doing that if phillip Nolan was so easily able to blame restraunts from June 🤔🤔🤤
