Conor McGregor slammed Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul by claiming the fight sets a bad example for those looking to take up boxing.
It's understood both men want the fight to be professionally sanctioned, but Tyson recently admitted it will likely go ahead as an exhibition bout. UFC legend McGregor, who infamously shared the ring with Floyd Mayweather for his lone boxing fight in 2017, explained why he thinks the fight will do more harm than good.
"Doing these little smash-and-grab fights, you might get a few likes, but there's nothing substantial to it. It's hollow. It can be profitable, but it's hollow. I'm noticing a trend in young fighters coming up that are not even interested in competing in the amateur scene or rising up to win a national title. You need the gold on the waist. You need to etch your name on the belt.
