Conor McGregor has ramped up talks of a fight between him and boxing legend Manny Pacquiao after suggesting the showdown is likely to be arranged this year.
McGregor, 32, is currently preparing for his first appearance in the Octagon in a year when he meets Dustin Poirier on January 23, but has teased that Pacquiao could well be next."I am excited for a Manny Pacquiao bout and it looks like it will happen this year. What time this year? I am not sure.McGregor is known for his boxing prowess and punch power having earned 19 of his 22 wins in mixed martial arts competition by way of knockout.
"I will certainly attain a boxing world title before I call it a day. And I would be excited to do that against Emmanuel Pacquiao." He has admitted fighting McGregor is one of just two feasible options on the table for him this calendar year, and is his preference over a clash against WBC and IBF welterweight champ Errol Spence.Getting the fight made won't be a straightforward task, but UFC president Dana White has admitted previously he is keen to dip his toe into the world of boxing events.
