The next European Parliament must have competitiveness as a top priority, business group Ibec has claimed.

Launching its EU manifesto, the organisation also said the development of monitoring of the regulatory burden on businesses also needs to be front and centre for the new parliament.

"The EU is central to our ability to meet these challenges and achieve future success, as businesses and as citizens." On trade and investment, Ibec is seeking the advancement of ambitious trade policies to enhance EU competitiveness and the promotion of partnerships and common standards with key trading partners.
