Commuters face disruption and diversions on the M7 in Co Kildare this weekend to allow for the demolition of a bridge.
An overbridge will be demolished to facilitate the ongoing construction of the new Osberstown Interchange Junction 9a between junctions nine and Junction 10 . This will affect traffic in both directions. In order to safely carry out this demolition works and maintain M7 traffic in both directions, traffic will be directed around the area of the works via the newly constructed off/on slips of this new interchange.The demolition works will take place on Saturday and Sunday of this weekend while traffic will be directed onto the slips from 9pm on Friday March 29th. This arrangement will continue through the weekend with traffic running in two lanes on each carriageway between 6am and 10pm each day.
A Garda spokesman said the demolition works will have been completed and traffic will return to the current mainline before 6am on Monday April 1st
