Irish Coast Guard Sligo Helicopter has rescued 2 surfers that got into difficulties today. Casualties were successfully recovered and handed over the National Ambulance Service.
Met Éireann said that Storm Jorge would bring winds of speeds 65 to 80 km/hr along with gusts of 110 to 130 km/hr in the areas affected by the orange warning. A Status Yellow rainfall warning also applies to Connacht and Donegal this evening, with a Status Yellow snow/ice warning all over Ireland. Thousands of homes were left without power on the west coast as the storm made landfall while fallen trees were causing traffic disruption across the country today.
*rescues two pricks
Hope someone names the Muppets!!
Fine them for negligence.
Can we please give whose 2 super surfers 10.000€ fine each just for stupidity and putting in fully avoidable danger rescue teams?
For people who deliberately ignore severe weather warnings to pursue their hobby & subsequently have to be rescued, there should be hefty charges, just as there are for Fire Brigade calls. Being hit in the pocket might make them think twice before endangering lives! StormJorge
Why? 🤨
How bloody irresponsible of the two idiots! They have no regard for anyone. 😤😤Coast guard does wonderful things.
Surfs up.
Shouldn't have bothered rescuing those muppets
I genuinely do not understand why we allow people to endanger the lives of our emergency services. It's one thing to get into trouble on the waters but quite another when the area the rescue takes place is under a weather warning. They should be charged for endangering lives.
