Claire Byrne viewers' outrage as nursing home worker describes pandemic scenes

Claire Byrne viewers have been voicing their outrage online after a nursing home worker spoke about the shocking scenes she had to live through over the past year.

While trying to protect the people in the home where she works, Ms Brophy said 44 residents under her care lost their lives after contracting the virus. Ms Brophy described the horrific scenes they witnessed every day saying; “Bodies were going by you a couple of times a day and even some of the residents who recovered from covid, they would say ‘why is it that my friend died of Covid and I’m still here, I should have been taken.’

Niamh had previously appeared on the show but remained anonymous when explaining how bad things were last year, and viewers have been commending her bravery this evening, but have been outraged by her story and are calling for action.
