'Agriculture has got off lightly' - Ciara Kelly criticises emission targets.

"Agriculture accounts for almost 40% of our emissions - they've agreed to cut by 25%, or at least that's their target now.

"But the target for other sectors - 75% for energy, 50% for transport, 45% commercial for buildings, 40% for residential buildings and 35% for industry in general - agriculture has got off lightly."I don't know if any of these targets are achievable, frankly. "But certainly with such a large chunk of our emissions being cut by a relatively small amount - not even 30% - and we're supposed to hit 50%, I don't know how any of this is done.""Residential is supposed to cut by 40% - you'd want to be retrofitting every second house to get anywhere near that.

"Energy 75% - we'd want to have wind farms all over the western seaboard, and pronto, and I don't know how that's going to happen."All of us are going to have to do a little bit more I think - dare I say it - because farmers are doing a little bit less. "And if one sector pushes back and kind of gets leeway, what's to say all the other sectors won't push back as well?", she adds.

NTBreakfast Maybe farmers should do Fu©k all altogether, and Ciara can see how likes and clicks might fill her belly.

NTBreakfast That's an uneducated rant from someone that should be impartial when covered and farmers expected to get fair play?

NTBreakfast Let's start to tax makeup more...its an unnecessary product that's causing climate change

NTBreakfast Cut 30% of radio stations and TV crewa

NTBreakfast If only someone would put up a list of all of the different environmental schemes that farmers are engaged in, Ciara would soon be proven incorrect

The opinionated doctor hasn't got a clue about rural Ireland

It’s all a fabricated game like covidFlu. Once farmers going vote with their feet and people were going to object AIB decisions the government ran for political cover. What Ireland does makes no difference to warmth or freezing and the climate is nature as for billions of years

Covid Kelly doing the dance again eh

They are wilfully destroying the economy, livelihoods and industries for a variety of bullshit agendas. “Build Back Better”, “The Great Reset” and Agenda 2030 are nothing more than virtue smokescreens for an enormous asset and power grab. We need to wake up!

Hard to argue with her.

Ciara is full of the virtue ! What’s her view on an EU deal that will see beef imported here from Brazil that is leading to deforestation and a herd increase there four fold? Farmers here are being ass fcuked without even a bit of spit

Oh shut up ciara will you be saying that when there is no food on the shelves? Have you not seen whats going on in Holland with the farmers?

Your Car Is Next

High time she and the rest in newstalk shut their government holes and read the room.

As if she knows anything about it.
