Liffey cycle path work ‘an illegal act’ – Dublin City Centre Traders Alliance

to facilitate walking, cycling and public transport in the city, by restricting private cars.

“Experience from other jurisdictions which have begun to ease Covid-19 related restrictions has clearly shown a marked and natural reluctance of people to use public transport and indications are that is very likely to be the case here also,” he said. He called on Mr Burke to “oppose these measures as currently outlined until proper consultation with all of the affected stakeholders is conducted, and a thorough review and consideration of the relevant issues involved takes place”.

sure half of them wouldn't be there if they hadn't gotten a handout from taxpayer in first place ...

They’ve made enough money over the years. It’s time for the people of Dublin to reclaim the streets from cars.

Who would habe thought there is such a thing as the Irish Car Park Association ? Providing much needed lobbying for hard pressed car park operarors and clampers no doubt 🙄

Quelle surprise! Vested interest surfaces to kill of pedestrian improvement

I assume the cyclists were aware of the street markings, which don't permit side by side cycling.

And not one tiny little fooook was given

Car park owners are wealthy people who got tax breaks to build their car parks.Who cares what they think the city cannot go on as it is.

These carpark owners are the epitome of the kind of enemies that need to be defeated to improve our city/country. If the government gives an inch on this ,then the precedent has been set and all their election bullshit was as empty as usual. Will be watching this one closely

We oppose their car parks.

Recently used the car to go to the blood donor clinic as i did not want to use the bus. 3.40 euro in Swifts Row. No wonder they oppose closing city to cars. Or Dublin City Council must be sucking up to the Greens.

Car parking in the city is a disgrace! €23.00 for 5 hours in a battered car park - I bet they want cars in the city. Easy money for hungry people.

Get tough - tell them it’s them or us and we have the guns !

In other news, water is wet.

So much for bus transport. They won't be able to move along the quays anymore. Ridiculous 🙄

I see a plan here... a sneaky plan... block the roads to cars, cause gridlock, then introduce congestion charges. And all in the name of safety... good one Owen Keegan 👍 Tax tax tax, keeping taxing the idiots, they'll keep paying. 👍

Change with the times - why don’t they offer bike park service? Bikes need looking after too

That's right suckers. 'Bicycle' is another form of 'Lockdown'. Let's see how far you can cycle when these lot turn up....

NIMBY on wheels.

😂
