The UK's Liberal Democrats have called for an immediate investigation into claims Boris Johnson lobbied for a young woman to get a City Hall job while he was London mayor

Image: PA Image: PA THE UK LIBERAL Democrats have called for an immediate investigation into claims Boris Johnson lobbied for a young woman to get a City Hall job while he was London mayor.

According to the Sunday Times report, the woman secured an interview for the role but felt ill-qualified and was unsuccessful. But he denied any wrongdoing, according to the newspaper, saying: “I don’t believe that I was malicious and I don’t believe that I would have been aggressive or anything like that. I think that would be not fair.”

A Downing Street spokesman said: “This not about his time as PM and no public interest as I see it. And we don’t talk about his private life.” It comes after two serving Cabinet ministers, Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi and Transport Secretary Grant Shapps, revealed their intention to run for the top job in the space of an hour.

Attorney General Suella Braverman, ex-minister Kemi Badenoch and senior Tory Tom Tugendhat have also launched bids.

Comparing childhood obesity to child abuse is 'inflammatory' | Newstalk“If your child is obese and you’re doing nothing about it - how is that any different from seeing your child smoke cigarettes and you’re not wanting to stop your child smoking cigarettes? 'I think that would be considered child abuse.” A parent is responsible for what a child puts in their body. If a child is malnourished and neglected TUSLA will be called and abuse may be established. I fail to see how child obesity is any different. Snowflakes just don't like taking personal responsibility. If your child is obese, the only person to blame is the parents who purchase and provide the food! It is the leading cause of diabetes and heart conditions and yes it is abuse Well it isn't child abuse so move on
