With just 23 days to go before the UK is due to leave the EU, the future of Brexit remains deeply uncertain.
The source said that Taoiseach Leo Varadkar "doesn't want to negotiate. Varadkar was keen on talking before the Benn Act when he though that the choice would be 'new deal or no deal'. "This government will not negotiate further so any delay would be totally pointless," the source was quoted as saying.
The source was cited as making it clear that defence and security cooperation will be affected if the EU tries to keep Britain in the EU. The source also said that any EU states that oppose a delay would be granted good cooperation. "Our legal advice is clear that we can do all sorts of things to scupper delay which for obvious reasons we aren't going into details about," the Spectator's source said.
Separately, German Chancellor Angela Merkel is reported to have told Mr Johnson this morning that there could only be a deal if Northern Ireland stays in the customs union, if not, then a deal is "overwhelmingly unlikely".The DUP has said a Brexit deal was unlikely to be achieved by an informal deadline of Friday.

Given you are a non UK news organisation can't you just come out and say Dominic Cummings even if it's not him directly as we know everything originated from him?
Well the only thing they offered was let our off bag last night
