A brave garda came to the aid of a flight crew 30,000 feet above the Atlantic when a US passenger hit a fellow flier and smashed a TV screen.Sergeant Anthony McNulty, of Swords Garda Station in Dublin, was on board and used his skills as a use of force instructor to subdue the man.
"The other two gardai, who were returning from a private holiday trip to the US, also helped as did two US police officers who then stepped forward to assist help on the flight."Aer Lingus flight EI120 was severely disrupted on Friday morning after the passenger became verbally abusive to staff on the aircraft.
A US passenger on the flight said that Airport security and gardai were there to meet the disruptive American when they landed in Dublin Airport. She added: "He was from America and even had his family with him, I'm not sure why they didn't try to intervene.""Our family is law enforcement and two of our guys assisted in restraining him."Jeff is a retired sheriff while David currently works for a central Florida agency and they are both former SWAT team members.
