Britain's parliamentary standards watchdog has confirmed it is investigating Prime Minister Boris Johnson over how he paid for a luxury Caribbean holiday.

Kathryn Stone, the current Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, is looking into the controversial trip to the privately owned island of Mustique over Christmas 2019 by the UK leader and his fiancee Carrie Symonds.

In the register of MPs' interests, he claimed the £15,000 trip was provided by David Ross, a businessman and donor to his ruling Conservative party. Mr Johnson's Downing Street office has previously insisted all relevant "transparency requirements" were correctly followed. Kathryn Stone, who confirmed the Johnson probe is one of nine current investigations into politicians for possible breaches, can refer serious offences to parliament's Committee on Standards for sanctioning.

Ballymurphy Massacre: Boris Johnson 'apologises unreservedly' on behalf of British government over 1971 killingsBoris Johnson 'apologises unreservedly' on behalf of British government over Ballymurphy killings A day late and through a spokesman. Insulting the families further. Tears of a clown.. Johnson has loathing for anything that ends in Murphy A welcome apology from the PM on behalf of the state. Looking forward to Sinn Fein apologising unreservedly for the IRA's terror campaign & the very many more innocent lives taken by IRA terrorists. I have a feeling it will be a long wait.

He should be on his knees begging those families for forgiveness. Words come cheap to Mr Johnson. Let him stand in the HoC and say that loud and clear (but first, informing the relatives he's going to). And then explain how he's going to right that wrong. AmnestyIsATravesty
