Nearly one year after the implosion of the OceanGate submersible Titan, a real estate investor and his CEO are planning to dive to the Titanic in a Triton submersible

Nearly a year after the catastrophic implosion of the Titan submersible, a billionaire real estate investor has vowed to journey to the wreck of the Titanic in a new vessel in a daring attempt to prove deep sea expeditions are safe.

"He called me up and said, 'You know, what we need to do is build a sub that can dive to repeatedly and safely and demonstrate to the world that you guys can do that, and that Titan was a contraption,'" Patrick, co-founder and CEO of Triton, told The Wall Street Journal. The pair are set to embark on their journey in a $20milllion vessel named Triton 4000/2 Abyssal Explorer, although the exact date of this deep-sea adventure remains unknown.
