CSO says data suggests public-private sector pay differences are levelling off

Some women public servants are better paid than their private-sector counterparts, official figures suggest.

The CSO states that in 2022, women in the public sector had a differential ranging from a premium of 6.7 per cent over their private enterprise counterparts to a discount of 2.2 per cent.More offices for fewer clients and sitting down with an Irish Brexiteer Darragh Turner, statistician in the CSO’s earnings analysis division, said there did appear to be a levelling off in the public-private sector pay differential between 2019 and 2022, with slight reductions from 2018 to 2020.
