The former Munster coach may be a current back-to-back Rugby World Cup winner but there is an unhealthy obsession with beating Andy Farrell's men

Ireland's two-Test tour to South Africa looks, from the outside, a tough proposition despite traveling as Six Nations champions. Chief among Ireland's worries will be that Rassie Erasmus appears hellbent on taking down Ireland.

But Erasmus has set about this two-game tour as if going to a world war. There are 39 players in his squad, another 14 on standby and another three top-class players listed as unavailable through injury. Defiantly, Ireland assistant coach Mike Catt says altitude is not a rugby factor, it only becomes one if you allow it to get into your mind.

"It is the same for both sides too. If you are talking about altitude not everyone plays at altitude in South Africa, so don’t worry about it."
