And the rest is history. The band enjoyed phenomenal success for the next 40 years, and Liam gained global recognition as a songwriter."

Wow I am sorry to hear that

Summer in Dublin is my favourite Bagatelle song 👍

A great voice in Irish music , seen him live loads of times in The STAR BALLROOM , Millstreet back in the 80s

Very sad news & huge loss of talent both as a singer & songwriter. Had the pleasure of seeing Bagatelle live many times over the years. Can’t understand why Liam & the band didn’t become megastars. RIP.

Eh, The Streets Of New York. UncleBenji

Sad too young.

Rest in peace Liam. The music will live on

A fantastic singer and indeed songwriter. Also represented Ireland in Eurovision with somewhere in Europe, knew a man who was with Liam during their highlight, met Liam once ,a gentleman, but bagatelle could have been bigger than u2 if they had right management. rip

RIP a legend

A light hearted story is about 15 years ago,in a small village in Cork,a few musicians had gathered Summer in Dublin was playing, a friend leaned to me and told me the 'group' were remarkable and were doing a fantastic cover of the song🙂 That 'group' was Liam and Bagatelle 😀

RIP 'thank you for the music'

Sad news. Incredible songwriter. From Summer in Dublin to Flight of Earls. A decent record collection wasn’t complete without a piece of Bagatelle vinyl. R.I.P. Liam Reilly

So sorry to hear that.

Jeez 65!! RiP.

Met him in Kevin Barry’s pub in Savannah GA back in the 90’s. Smashing chap! He heard the Irish accents and came over and introduced himself. While the Guinness was mediocre, the craic was mighty. RIP.

and the poignant Leeson Street lady
