B&Q Ireland has urgently recalled a popular item due to the risk of significant injuries. Almost 500 of them have been sold throughout Ireland in recent years.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission issued an alert today for Cooke & Lewis Lesina Mirrored Cabinets, which were sold in Ireland by the DIY and home improvement retailer.

A spokesperson said: "B&Q Ireland Limited recalls Cooke & Lewis Lesina Mirrored Cabinets. The risk associated with the product is injuries. The bonding of the mirror glass to the door panel may fail causing the mirror to detach and fall resulting in glass shards. This can cause injuries including cuts, lacerations and possible amputation."
