Gardaí say that a man in his 70s was assaulted after a number of men forced their way into a property in the Skreen area at around 7pm yesterday.
The man was brought to Sligo University Hospital to be treated for his injuries and a sum of cash was also taken during the incident. An investigation is under way, and gardaí say they are keen to speak to anyone who was in the Skreen/Dromard area between 4pm and 8pm yesterday. Gardaí are also asking that anyone who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, to make it available to them.
