In recent weeks, these groups have leaned on data published by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre every week to claim that the number of Covid-19 deaths since April is higher among vaccinated than unvaccinated people. It found that between 1 April and 16 October this year, there were 402 deaths in Ireland which were attributable to Covid-19. Of these:It should be noted here that the number of Covid-19 deaths since April remains lowest in the category of fully vaccinated people – that is, those who died more than two weeks after receiving all doses of the vaccine they were given.
In contrast, the HSPC’s data shows that the number of deaths among unvaccinated people as a percentage of the overall total has gradually fallen. In other words, between 11 September and 16 October, just 29 unvaccinated people died from Covid-19 compared with 149 people who received at least one dose .
Speaking at NPHET’s first media briefing in over two months, Professor Philip Nolan noted that Covid-19 vaccines don’t entirely reduce the risk of death from the virus, particularly among older populations. HPSC data on deaths from Covid-19 - including age profile - also outlines the impact of the virus on older people since September.
Although the vaccination status of these individuals is not known, the figures show the extent to which the over-65s are impacted by Covid-19 despite almost everybody over the age of 60 in Ireland being fully vaccinated. Following up on Nolan’s comments this week, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan explained that although more people who have received a vaccine are dying from the virus, deaths among the unvaccinated population greatly outnumbered these per capita.
Official figures also show that 3.8 million people in Ireland have received at least one dose of a vaccine .
The majority of 1st vaxxed would have been older people or people in poor health..what would have been the likelihood of those dying if covid was taken out of the equation?Being vaxxed isn't a guarantee of immortality..people still going to die whether vaxxed or not.
So, if I'm reading correctly, the 155 deaths in those who were fully vaccinated but sadly died with 14 days of vaccination are also included in the unvaccinated grouping?

Between April & October in Ireland covid-19 deaths comprised: 42% or 155 vaccinated people. 55.2% or 224 deaths were partially vaccinated people. We can deduce that only 5.7% or 23 deaths from covid-19 in Ireland were unvaccinated people. Is the author an apologist for Pharma?

Biologically, I think 96% of a population being able to tolerate a brand new medication is extremely high. There are always some who will be unable take new medications due to history of allergic/anaphylactic reactions. What exactly do you want from us?

I'm not Anti-Vax or Pro-Vax. I believe everyone should have the choice based on their own personal circumstances & shouldn't be coerced to go against that. But there's absolutely nothing misleading about official HSELive figures stating that 83% of 118 deaths were vaccinated

Misinformation seems to be a common theme with these deniers. They'll probably refuse any treatments if they contract the disease so they wont take up valuable ICU or Hospital space.
About time we started to move on.If you can take the vaxx and don't well stay at home trembling about whatever conspiracy you believe in.Let the vast majority of us who took the vaxx get on with life. The country can't close down again because of a tiny selfish, scared minority.
Im currently in portlaoise hospital, got the vaccine Wednesday, hospitalised Friday afternoon, been told its pericarditis, reaction from the vaccine with an autoimmune disease I have. Do not get it unless you have to get the vaccine, its not for everyone!

All these idiots banging on about deaths. It's not like you catch covid and die or survive. There are degrees of fucked with it. If the vaccine reduces the effects of the virus and perhaps long term effects then its worth it IMO.
'anti-vax' groups. You're part of the problem. 99.9% have no issue with childhood vaccinations like MMR. The hesitancy is with new Covid vaccines pushed on low risk groups like kids & nonsense like Vaccine Passports. A little truth in journalism is needed.
