An Aer Lingus passenger has spoken about his exhausting and frustrating experience after being stranded in Palma de Mallorca.
The pair arrived at Palma de Mallorca on Wednesday night for the light flight but were informed of a delay by the staff, but thankfully the flight eventually landed, so the couple were hopeful they could get home. Following repeated discussions with Aer Lingus staff, Shaun says he and his partner were told by a member of airport staff that their flight was cancelled just after 1am. The Cork man said all the passengers were “distressed” after the news.
"All we were told by the members of airport staff was to go back, get your luggage and leave, essentially.” However, Shaun slammed this claim as untrue: "That’s not true, they didn’t provide us with any accommodation, they didn’t provide any suggestions, any help at all and I want to make that clear. "We were stranded and everybody was scared because we were on this island where only a select few flights go in and out. It's not like we were in London or Dublin or one of those places where you can hop on a plane straight away and get back to Cork another way.
