Gardai believe that thieves gained entry to the church by the rear open door between the hours of 12.40pm and 9.15pm

Gardai have launched an investigation after the Co Donegal church at the centre of many of the funerals of those who perished in the Creeslough tragedy was robbed.

President Michael D Higgins attended the church for many of the funerals which were overseen by local parish priest Fr John Joe Duffy.There is huge local anger this week after the church was broken into and robbed on Sunday last. "We are anxious to progress the investigation so if anybody can assist with information we ask them to please contact Milford Garda Station on 074-9153060. The Garda Confidential line may be reached on 1800 666 111."
