Instead of totally random testing they should have focused on areas such as Wexford which went from daily low single figures to 50+ daily cases. Bottom of the table to 2nd (now 5th) in just a couple of weeks.

Why would the Taoiseach blame the UK variant for the rise in numbers in his very moving address to the nation? Was it anything to do with Leo and him opening the whole place up in early December when we were still having 400 cases a day?
The government wants the public to believe it is the new variant because they know that they eased the restrictions too much over Christmas just to try and gain some popularity.
Rte news reports on deaths are phrased ' people died WITH covid' They are saying this more regularly now, there is news. Why not say people who died from?
How small? Cases exploding in counties that previously had very low positive numbers. Also it’s escalated faster after this reopening compared to other reopening. Increase social contacts would explain some but some other factor is at work.
