Golf presenter Amanda Balionis took to Instagram to share her 'success' as Rory McIlroy headed back to his $17 million Florida mansion with wife Erica Stol l after a gut-wrenching US Open.
In a post featuring several pics, Balionis quipped: "Tauk about off-week success". Her cheeky update came soon after McIlroy's near-miss, stirring whispers of past rumours that linked her romantically with the golf star, as he missed out on what would have been his first major in ten years. McIlory immediately headed to his Florida base with wife Erica. The pair almost separated last month but made a U-turn on divorce proceedings as McIlroy shelved the idea. Speculation buzzed around McIlroy and Balionis during his temporary rift with Erica, as the glamorous broadcaster was seen without her wedding band and sharing a consoling embrace with McIlroy post-Canadian Open earlier this month.
The Northern Irish golfer posted: "Yesterday was a tough day, probably the toughest I've had in my nearly 17 years as a professional golfer. Firstly, I'd like to congratulate Bryson. He is a worthy champion and exactly what professional golf needs right now. I think we can all agree on that.
