Almost 500,000 tune in as RTE's Claire Byrne opens up about getting coronavirus

Almsot half a million viewers tuned in to watch Claire Byrne Live on Monday as the presenter opened up about contracting coronavirus.

Figures requested by the Irish Mirror from RTE revealed an average of 491,000 tuned in to March 23's Claire Byrne Live - bringing the show's rating to election time figures. Similar figures last week retrieved from RTE showed a major spike in the interest for news from the national broadcaster, with eight of the top 10 TV programmes featuring news bulletins.
