Lindsay Lohan's Ireland-set rom-com Irish Wish landed on Netflix on Friday and has quickly become a hit with viewers.
Set on 800 acres in Co Wicklow, the historic home is a private estate, visitor attraction, and working farm that produces free range meat, fruit and vegetables for Killruddery’s own kitchen and Farm Shop. The original glass roof was the work of Richard Turner who designed the curvilinear range at the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin. The glass roof was replaced in 2000 with an ultra-violet-resistant polycarbonate, with further bars added to the original cast-iron spars.
The mansion was designed around the medieval castle in the style of Palladian architecture and featured baroque dome-roofed towers on either side. The stunning scenery of Lake Tay surrounded by the mountains makes it one of the most iconic locations in Ireland so it's no surprise producers sought to include it in the film.
The breathtaking views are also used for the film's conclusion, with the film fading out on a sweeping image of the Irish beauty spot. While producers filmed at the Cliffs of Moher, the upper section of the Cliff Walk between Bray and Greystones was also used as a double for the Clare spot and can be seen in the film when Lohan's character and her love interest played by Ed Speleers are supposedly walking along the Cliffs of Moher as seen in the picture below
