“I’ll be honest and say, at this moment in time, it looks very uncertain; it often tends to be the case and towards the later days you get a deal. “But it’s not certain and I think it’s really important… that we get that agreement between the global north and global south.”At last year’s COP in Glasgow, it was agreed that the use of coal would be “phased down” in the future. Many countries wanted the fossil fuel to be “phased out,” but the phrase was watered down by China and India in a last-minute intervention.

By 'work' does he mean taxing?

We can start it after the next election.

I assume he means there's a lot of work to be done, given the logistics of getting 55 people over to Egypt, and then home again

He won’t be doing it - gone at the next election and he can take his lettuce with him.

Opinion: Ireland has failed to demonstrate real leadership on climate justice at COP27Opinion: Ross Fitzpatrick is at COP27 in Egypt - he says Ireland has failed to show leadership on climate justice... 'blatant refusal to acknowledge the polluter pays principle – a core element of climate justice.' Well, China and India and all those similarly overpopulated holes are the problem so let them pay for it. Ireland has 'failed to show leadership' on ANY justice, judging by what's walking our streets. Maybe addressing actual criminal matters instead of the ClimateScam would be a better use of resources rather than 'chasing one's tail'. Climate justice 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
