The Department of Foreign Affairs is working with local authorities and advising Irish nationals in the area

, it was confirmed that a hotel in Tenerife is on lockdown due to a confirmed case of the coronavirus.

An Italian tourist at the hotel, the H10 Costa Adeje Palace in the town of Adeje, was hospitalised with a now confirmed case of COVID-19, health officials confirmed. Speaking to JOE on the situation there, a spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs made the following statement:
