The Department of Health has reported a further 1,179 confirmed cases of Covid19. It said there are 91 people in hospital with the coronavirus, while there are 22 people in ICU with Covid-19, no change from yesterday.

It said there are 91 people in hospital with the coronavirus, while there are 22 people in ICU with Covid-19, no change from yesterday.

A bumpy journey for the next few weeks in terms of #Delta. Thankfully community positivity from testing reduced yesterday from 8.4% to 6.7%. Now 77% of people partially vaccinated and almost 64% fully. A white knucle ride of vaccines versus Delta but let's get there. @HSELive Professor Kingston Mills said a lot of transmission is among the 16 to 18 age group, and that while symptoms for them may be mild, there is also the risk of Long Covid to be considered.

Speaking on RTÉ's This Week, Dr Ina Kelly said she hopes that if people get mild symptoms it would not have an effect on the health service, but they would like "every case to be prevented if possible". Dr Kelly said one issue they have noticed is that symptomatic people are going to work because their symptoms are mild and they assume "that it's nothing".

The last part of headline is the important piece

RTE the mouthpiece of the government, 91 people you say...but riddle me this what were they ADMITTED for? Like my niece appendicitis only to get a pcr test and lone behold she has covid too....

Just on the report that Mr Holohan and Mr Glynn got some unsavoury phone calls at strange times, during the week,Mr Donnelly, was non to pleased to hear that. I know a number of people who got nuisance calls over the last while, at all hours of the day and night.Nothing new there

Is this with the 45 cycle PCR?

'With'. Vacination status Age ? Health?

So no new admissions to hospital but the number rises to 91 from yesterday’s 78. How’s restricting indoor dining going to stop the spread inside hospitals. Can we also assume that the new hospital cases were already in hospital for some other reason?

MichealMartinTD you see the F1 today , yet you make us feel great for pitiful crowds across the country today . You and the CMOIreland are the worst in recent history to “lead” this country

There are still more people in NPHET

There are no cases because the alleged virus has never been isolated - therefore cannot be detected.

My daughter and most of her friends registered over 3 weeks ago for the vaccine..18 to 20year olds. They have heard nothing yet!!😪😪😪

ClotShot ScumMedia

It’s coming home it’s coming home

Hope the outbreaks in mayo and connelly hospital are explained to people. Hospital numbers would be much lower. The public deserve full transparency

30000 tests a day will ye come away will ye 😅

Give us breakdowns per county/ age 🙄

63% of the population vaccinated and no deaths ffs move on there will be more and more variance just get on with it telling everyone daily numbers isn't going to solve anything.

ZERO dead again. Obviously we must march on and aim for 10-20,000 cases a day to test vaccination and achieve herd immunity or we end up with a mirror image of last year

It’s like a TV show that was interesting when it first started but it’s now overstayed its welcome and become extremely contrived, redundant and boring

Stay safe out there people. Avoid the covidiots.

Cases we're always going to rise the more things opened. As long as deaths are down, we aren't doing too bad. Spikes were expected with this delta anyway.

Any chance there might be a few false positives in these numbers. But of course the H.S.E, won't revel them. Are these vaccines not working, or what's going on. Bumpy journey. Give us a break.

Good enough for the people in hospital they deserve to be in there and the 22 deserve to be in ICU Lockdosn number 4 on the way thanks to idiotic Irish. For all the morons on here that said only older people end up in hospital this prices they are WTONG

Can you report how many of them had vaccine? Additionally, It’s high in 16-18 year olds who have not been vaccinated, right?

Watching reports out of India, numbers have dipped for two days in a row.

No change in ICU numbers. Good to see.

Ye have stopped reporting deaths, its not as scary without the deaths.... NoVaccinePassport

No point shitting your pants then in it

Crazy we haven't banned inter-county travel yet
